Churchyard Regs

The Churchyard has been described as ‘God’s Half Acre’. A community group of volunteers under the leadership of the Friends of St. Peter & St. Paul endevour to maintain a balance of a well maintained space within a natural environment. We are encouraging the development of a mix of wild flower meadow areas with more traditional mowed areas adjacent to the Church. This is an ongoing project and new volunteers are welcomed.

As a burial ground in use over centuries certain regulations are necessary to maintain the respectful character of our Churchyard. For example: the placing of plastic flowers and tributes is not permitted. There are also controls on the type and materials used for headstones.
